Having been ‘locked down’ by Isaac Mullane, SBI, on 17th May, today he gave the Apiary a clean bill of health and the restrictions were lifted. The weather was cloudy, humid, 25C. Apiary Custodians Ali Hollingbery and Rowan Roberts were in attendance. All hives are single-brood Nationals
Hive 1 – 3.5 frames bees, 2 frames BIAS. Previous inspection, 12 June, 2.5 frames drawn 6 days after shook swarm.
Hive 2 – 8 frames bees, 6 frames BIAS. Queen seen, patchy brood pattern, some bald brood. Previous inspection 12 June, 6 frames drawn 6 days after shook swarm.
Hive 3 – 4 frames bees, 3 frames BIAS, Sac brood. Previous inspection, 12 June, 1 frames with eggs drawn 6 days after shook swarm. Feeding required.
Hive 4 – no record. Previous inspection 12 June, 0.5 frames drawn 6 days after shook swarm.
Hive 4A – no record. Previous inspection 12 June, 0.5 frames drawn 6 days after shook swarm.
Hive 5 – 5 frames bees, 3 frames BIAS. Previous inspection 12 June, 4 frames drawn 6 days after shook swarm. Requires feeding.
Hive 5A – 9 frames bees, 6 frames BIAS. Queen seen, unmarked. 5QC, 2 sealed, 3 unsealed. 2 sealed & 1 unsealed QCs removed. Queen removed to 5C Nuc.
Hive 5B – 4 frames bees, 3 frames BIAS. Previous inspection 12 June, 4 frames drawn, 1.5 frames eggs 6 days after shook swarm.
Hive 5C – National Nuc. established with 2 frames stores and 5A queen.
Hive 6 – 3 frames bees, 2 frames BIAS. Pepper potting & Bald Brood. Requires feeding.
