Hive inspections for 2022 commenced on 23 March.  The day was 16C and sunny.  Eight colonies went into winter, six colonies came through winter.  All colonies are on National Single Brood without supers unless otherwise stated.

Hive 1 – inspected by Neil Mariner – National Brood & Half.  12 frames bees 6.5 frames BIAS. Queen (marked white) seen. Sufficient room and stores.  QE added below half brood to clear.  Drone brood seen.  Health OK.  Temper 3.

Hive 2 – inspected by Hilary Hayward – 9 frames bees, 6 frames BIAS.  Queen (marked white) seen. Sufficient room and stores.  1 brood frame removed to reduce to 11.  Health OK.  Temper 2.

Hive 3 – inspected by Hilary Hayward – 6 frames bees, 4 frames BIAS.  Queen (marked white) seen. Sufficient room and stores.  1kg Hive Alive fondant added.  Under-super removed.  Health OK.  Temper 2.

Hive 4 – inspected by Hilary Hayward – 7 frames bees, 4 frames BIAS.  Sufficient room and stores.  Under-super removed.  Health OK.  Temper 3.

Hive 5 – inspected by Hilary Hayward – 6 frames bees, 4 frames BIAS.  Queen (marked white) seen.  No free drawn comb, 4 drawn combs added.  Sufficient stores.  Under-super removed.  Health OK.  Temper 2.

Hive 7, National Nuc- inspected by Hilary Hayward – Queen seen (marked white), 6 frames bees, 5 frames BIAS. Insufficient room, transferred to National Brood. Health OK Temper 3
