Hive 1 – inspected by Caroline Sedgwick – National Brood & half, Queen seen, 7 frames BIAS in brood, 8 frames BIAS in 1/2 brood, a 50% increase on last inspection. Sufficient room, 7 frames stores. Additional frame added to 1/2 brood for space. 1/2L syrup added. 1 wax moth larvae. No varroa board. Temper 10
Hive 2 – inspected by Liz Hawes & CS – initially Brood & 1/2, converted to single brood. Queen seen, 7 BIAS, a decrease on last inspection. Sufficient room & stores. 2 supers. Temper 9. No varroa board.
Hive 3 – inspected by David Parkinson – United with Hive 4 on 15 August, returned to single brood – Queen seen & marked. 6 frames BIAS, 2 frames stores, sufficient room & stores. 2 supers. Temper 7. Varroa count 24.
Hive 4A – inspected by David Parkinson & Chris Clark – new Queen seen, QC broken down, 3 frames BIAS, 1/2 frame stores. sufficient room. Temper 2.
Hive 5 – inspected by Hilary Hayward – new Queen seen, marked white, not yet laying but bees interested in her- queen pheromone smelt – no brood. 4 frames stores, sufficient room. Temper 6.
Hive 5A – inspected by Peter Reader, David Parkinson & Derek Beesley – No evidence of queen but temper reasonable (8) so reinspect in 1 week.
Hive 5B – inspected by Peter Reader, David Parkinson & DB – Queen seen, 5 frames BIAS, static since 1 August, good brood pattern, sufficient room & stores. Rapid feeder added. Temper 10.
